In McVey's Shadow - RFK Refugees Podcast
Welcome in ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, to RFK Refugees Podcast.
Ted and Jon talk about: DC United gets a 1-1 draw against the Columbus Crew. DC United played well and frustrated Columbus throughout the game. The team's shift to a 4-3-3 formation has been effective, but there is still room for improvement in converting chances. Connor Antley continues to impress as a signing from the USL. Jackson Hopkins started over Matti Peltola, showing the team's depth and competition for positions. The red card to Cucho Hernandez was deserved and a result of Chris McVey's strong performance. Overall, DC United is in a good position and teams are starting to fear playing against them. In this conversation, Jon and Ted discuss the recent performance of DC United and their upcoming matches against Orlando, New York City, and Seattle. They also touch on the potential departure of Cucho Hernandez from Columbus and the team's expectations for the rest of the season. The conversation then shifts to the construction of DC United's new stadium and the challenges of playing in baseball stadiums. They also discuss the recent incidents of racism and violence in the MLS Next tournament. The conversation concludes with updates on the Washington Spirit, including the release of Riley Tanner and potential roster changes.

Double Win Weekend - RFK Refugees Podcast
Welcome in ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, to RFK Refugees Podcast.
Ted and Jon talk about a 1-0 victory over CF Montreal in a well-organized performance. The team made a tactical shift to a 3-5-2 formation, which flummoxed Montreal and allowed DC to dominate possession and chances. The frustration settled in for DC in the second half, but they remained in control and ultimately secured the win. Pedro Santos had a notable impact offensively and defensively, and Connor Antley impressed as a surprise performer. The team's roster construction and dead cap space continue to be challenges, but they are exceeding expectations in their rebuilding year. The conversation covers the Washington Spirit's recent game against the Utah Royals, including analysis of the lineup, player performances, and key moments of the match. The hosts discuss the team's style of play and how it has evolved throughout the season. They also touch on the signing of Lacey Santos and the need for additional defensive reinforcements. The conversation concludes with a preview of the Spirit's upcoming games and a reminder to check out their future content.

Customer Reviews
Spirit live
Happy to support and follow a team that wins and plays with emotion. And a pod cast that can give good player/coach/game analysis especially for a team undergoing so much change this upcoming season.
Love the Spirit, unsure about this podcast
I’m happy to listen to any and all Spirit content and will continue to do so. However, the most recent interview with Paige Metayer is a perfect example of this podcast. Have a player make themself available and then instead of actually asking her questions/letting her speak, the hosts ramble on and/or answer the question themselves. It’s really frustrating. So, happy with Spirit content and hope the hosts continue to refine their interview skills.
These guys are great!
I’ve been listening since mid-2021 and they’ve had great Spirit coverage on their DC United-focused other show. Looking forward to continuing with this one focused on Spirit!
